Context

Implementing sustainable nuclear energy requires extending recycling strategies, through the multi-recycling of plutonium in current reactors or in future fast reactors. This also means understanding and controlling how plutonium interacts with the environment, including the mechanisms by which it can transfer to living organisms.

Challenges

Main objectives

Management of Used Fuel
Recycling
Environmental Protection

Fill certain gaps in fundamental solution chemistry data in order to better describe the physico-chemistry of radionuclides and their fission products, whether in industrial (fuel cycle) or environmental conditions.
